EWA Staff Raise Thousands for Children in Need
Every year, EWA proudly supports BBC Children in Need and 2007 has been no exception. This year’s event raised a fantastic £6,500 for the charity that aims to positively change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
“I think that is an amazing sum” commented Paul Luxon, EWA’s Managing Director. “Well done to all that took part - it really says something about the great team spirit within the business.”
EWA’s involvement with Children in Need goes back to 1988 and the company has raised a staggering £83,000 since its support began. The money has been raised by holding an annual companywide charity day and through staff making a small contribution each week for “dress down Fridays”.
Activities and events held during Children in Need day 2007 included:
• A Mexican food stall run by company directors selling tasty chilli and nachos – whilst in full Mexican costume!
• eWay – EWA’s answer to a well know online auction site, selling items kindly donated by suppliers, staff and clients including Monitor Audio, Merial Animal Health, Nissan and adidas.
• A very popular charity car wash and valet services run by EWA’s Systems and IT team.
EWA’s 2007 Children in Need day was once again a huge success and all EWA’s staff took part in raising money for the very worthwhile cause. The company will be continuing its support in 2008 and hopes to top the £100,000 mark during future fund raising events.
